Zakat, Sadaqa al-fitr and all other charitable deeds fall within the scope of infak. However, since Zakat is obligatory and Sadaqa al-Fitr is wajib and their donation is subject to certain rules, all other types of charity and expenditure are also referred to as infak. Infak activates the blessed qualities in the human soul, purifies the soul, opens the mind to wisdom, opens the heart to faith and transforms deeds into ihlas and ihsan. The sadaka is one of the decisive dynamics of social change. Infak serves the building and survival of civilisation.
